AMinA Northern Regional Championships Format

Venue

The venue for the following year is chosen at each AGM.  The venue must be a venue that qualifies for the Northern Region.

The selection will be based on (thought not exclusively) whether a club has been nominated, affiliation, whether an event has been held at the venue recently and the support the club’s members have given over the previous years year to the AMinA circuit.  The main selection however is to try and encourage and attract new players. 

The venue does however need support from their management where applicable and have at least 3 well-kept miniten courts.  They are expected to lay on entertainment for the Saturday night of the competition and breakfast and snacks over the weekend.

In brief, the AMinA Northern Championships are decided on a knockout basis with best of three sets each round.

The Championship finalists will qualify for the National Doubles Final.  The remaining qualifying places are decided upon a league basis where results of games that have taken place in the knockout event are transferred to the league.

Generally (dependant on number of entrants the league will be split into two halves, with anyone not qualifying for the final dropping into the league.  The top two teams in each half will play-off to decide who qualifies.

Where possible all Finals will be played on the Sunday.

Entrance Costs

Cost of Affiliation is £10 per club, and entrance fees of £2.00 per person per event apply.
